I can't really debate with anything here as far as the tier goes, except that A Quick One could be bolded.

What's the rationale for making the latest in a ridiculously long line of hits collections bold?

That's an artifact from when I bolded at least one greatest hits album for the lurkers who were going to buy a greatest hits album anyway. Might as well point them to a good one, I thought. I've stopped doing that and its being debolded now.

I'm not convinced Who Sell Out should be red bold. I'm not doubting it's quality, or that it has a decent chunk of acclaim, but I think that Tommy-Who's Next-Quad run is on a tier above in terms of quality and being indispensible to a budding Who fan.

Many major rock critics think The Who Sell Out is the single greatest Who album. Additionally, Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums poll was by far the largest poll of musicians and music industry types that Rolling Stone ever did and The Who Sell Out just missed the top 100 and outperformed every other Who album with the sole exceptions of Who's Next and Tommy. It's a lock for red, imo.

personally, the who sell out is the album that made me think that the who were actually good, and i listened to it after quadrophenia, tommy, and who's next, and it's also still my favorite.

Not saying this should affect the tiers, just giving a personal anecdote

regular bold for a quick one? i always thought it carried more acclaim than a non-bolding would suggest.

Favourite Band , sure I have Eddie's mug as avatar but don't let that fool you.

Another vote for TWSO deserving more. Certainly deserves being bolded

:durr: A Quick One i mean.

What are your thoughts on Endless Wire? Does it live up to the Who name? I'm a bit hesitant to getting it.

Squeeze Box alone is good enough reason to bold By Numbers

I enjoyed Endless Wire a lot when I first listened to it, but I haven't heard it in a few years. That may have changed.

It's definitely worth having for any Who fan though.

IMO, Endless Wire is their best album since Who By Numbers. Of course, it didn't have to do much to achieve that.
