I was trying to do a top 10 KC song list for the thread in general music discussion, incredibly hard.

In one of those phases where I can't go a day without listening to Red. I'm sure other albums do this to me too, but at times like these, I'm wearing blinders and think things like, "this album is literally untouchable."

I had my dungeons and dragon group fighting a mountain troll in D&D the other night (which, for them, is like woahwemightdieeek! level encounter), and one of them was shouting at the top of his lungs "turn on Red! put on Red! This is going to be a long fight and that's an album of nothing but boss-battle music!"

And I have those phases far too often, jumpman, though mine has been with SS&B lately.

 I can't fathom what would have to be happening in the game to deserve the end of "Starless"

Finally listened to Discipline.
I have to admit, when Crippler said it had some "80's dance" elements to it, I cringed.
But after listening to the whole thing, it far surpassed my expectations.

How the HELL do you write a song as musically perfect as Matte Kudasai?

I consider it way better than Red and I love Red, fwiw. One of the best albums ever made (Discipline), imo. Even cantankerous Bruford gushes about it and how he's proud of it, and he's pretty negative/'meh' about most of the music he's done

Check out the so called alternate version (really should be considered the standard version) of Matte Kudasai it has Fripp's parts which are missing on the version you're probably familiar with...cheers

I also consider Discipline's title track to be KC's best song (at least out of those I am aware of)

I Talk To The Wind has such an awesome solo in it. Fripp always plays within the limits of the song.

I've actually decided that Fripp is among the most overrated and wanky guitarists there ever was.

Where does he really "wank"? To my ears, he sounds like a minimalist, and an excellent one at that.

Scratch that post. I was having a psychotic episode last night, and part of that included me coming to the conclusion that I don't like any KC anymore.

So I've decided that Cadence And Cascade might be my favorite KC song.
Honestly, this is a brilliant band with many different elements to offer, but there is just something so painfully melancholic about Cadence that just makes me wanna tear up. The melody, and Gordon's vocal, and the flute, it all just adds up to make a chill-inducing masterpiece.

As of now...

1. Cadence And Cascade
2. I Talk To The Wind
3. Trio (so dark and mournful)
4. Matte Kudasai
5. Larks Tongues Pt. 1 (mainly for the heavy riff part, and Bruford's ridiculous drumming)
