Background When Rock 'n' Roll bands of the late '60s began incorporating country music styles, (Nashville, Honky-Tonk, Bluegrass, which emphasize harmony singing, two-beat bass playing, and looping rhythms), along with greater use of acoustic guitar, pedal steel guitar, dobro, banjo, and mandolin, 'Country Rock' was born. The Byrds got the ball rolling and were soon followed by artists like Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan, Rick Nelson, and Buffalo Springfield, which soon sprouted Country Rock bands like The Flying Burrito Brothers, Poco, The Eagles, and all the offshoots and solo efforts by these musicians.
