There are loads that don't belong there, Valens, Sledge, Cohen, Patti Smith, to start. Sledge was one of the ones that I thought was hugely undeserving. The idea of getting in for one song, no matter how great, just seemed wrong, to me. But that would be a knock against Gene Vincent, too, for the m...

Sorry, but I don't hear the first trace of any R&B in anything by Deep Purple. As for the other one, the singer is probably good, but the style of the music is so repulsive to me that I can't really listen to it and decide how she sounds. It's like opera. I'm sure there are many great singers i...

That's the only list I could find with "Sunshine of Your Love" higher than "My Generation". Here's a listener voted top songs of all time from 1987 on the most significant New York City AOR station. The two songs are close to each other. http://www.ilxor.com/ILX/ThreadSelectedCo...

Get rid of # 94 and put this there:

The # 1 Northern Soul record of all time and a killer record that would have been a hit if it wasn't pulled back just before release.

All three (Cochran, Holly, Valens) were elevated much above where they should have been because of the early deaths, although Cochran a little less because he died overseas and it wasn't as big of a story. Valens being in the rock and roll hall of fame is an absolute joke. If he hadn't died he'd be...

The better question is why would you want to limit yourself to just one of those three? They are all excellent in their own ways. I think that Waits stinks, and there are not even words to describe how bad i think that Cohen is. And I hardly limit myself to one artist listening to music. It's just ...

Well, obviously The Who are completely fucking amazing.

Half the songs on Tommy are not even good. Why listen to all of them when you could pick out the real good ones and listen to them without having to hear the rest of them.

And Quadrophenia doesn't even have one real good song IMO.
