Popularity: Clapton. Influence is a tie or Lennon. Musical Impact: Lennon. Cultural impact. Lennon by far. If that is right I say that Lennon and Clapton should be a lot closer.

I edited my post; now there are 4 separate groupings. EDIT: Honestly, I could make a good case for combining tiers 2 and 3. I don't think there's much space between those artists. I'm doing that.
