Did you know that Stevie Wonder did the original version of this song?

Recorded in 1967 it was not released until 1977 on the 3 record set "Looking Back."

Nope. That's pretty cool.

How many notable rock bands are there where each member recorded at least one solo album? So far I've come up with:

The Beatles
The Who
The Rolling Stones (unless Brian Jones disqualifies them, but he did do the soundtrack to A Degree of Murder)
Cream
KISS
Genesis
The Eagles

I just checked CCR, Stu Cook never had a solo album. He was in a few other bands who had albums since CCR broke up, but never a solo album.

LOVE that Stevie version of "Until You Come Back To Me". I feel like I talked about it somewhere on the board not long ago. I like it better than Aretha's, because I think the subtlety works better

For the all-members-had-solo-albums thing, I suppose we're not counting Peter, Paul and Mary as a rock band, huh?

The Band
Destiny's Child
Traveling Wilburys

He wrote the song with a couple of co-writers.

It's funny, but the two best things that Stevie ever wrote IMO are "It's A Shame" by the Spinners and "Tell Me Something Good" by Rufus. For me, nothing that he ever did himself is near as good as those two records.

Anyone heard I Was Made To Love Her from the Jimi Hendrix 'BBC Sessions' album? Drums are played by none other than Stevie Wonder.
Killer tune!

Just went and checked it out.

It's putrid IMO. Good example of how Hendrix ruined rock music. On a 0 to 10 scale Stevie's hit version is a 7, this version is a 2 at best. Overblown drivel IMO.

Here's what Diane had to say when I sent her the link.

I don't think it would work as an instrumental even if, you know, King Curtis and Earl Hooker were playing it. The lyrics and the joyous way Stevie Wonder sang them were a major part of the record's appeal. Not really a big dance record, I don't think. That said, it sounds like a fairly typical Hendrix performance to me. As they say, "If you like that kind of thing, then this is the kind of thing you'll like."

Two guys is a duo.

A group requires three or more members IMO.

I liked it. The drums are rubbish, though.

Maybe so, but Steely Dan was also primarily a duo.

Yes, I guess even if there was an actual third member he probably never had a solo album.
