Where is this "dropping Beatles out of top two" thing coming from? Sampson's always been adamant that Beatles and Elvis are only serious candidates for title of greatest rock artist. And I wouldn't push for Dead being #1 on live list.

Let me stress--he hasn't done that, I just think he might. If he did put anyone there, I think it would be James Brown.

    • Not just not #1. #16. I can see putting them behind James Brown and Bruce Springsteen, but I think it's absurd to have them behind Sam & Dave and Led Zep.
