Round 3 of the artists who released their first record between 1980 and 1989 is closed. There were 6 ballots turned in so a candidate needed 4 votes to be inducted. We have three new inductees.

Here we go:

INDUCTEES (votes)
Afrika Bambaataa (5)
Phil Collins (4)
Huey Lewis & the News (4)

NON-INDUCTEES (votes)
Bangles (3)
Go-Go's (3)
Whitney Houston (3)
George Michael (3)
New Order (3)
Pixies (3)
Ice-T (2)
Soundgarden (2)
Eurythmics (1)
Cyndi Lauper (1)
Pet Shop Boys (1)
Lionel Richie (1)

The Go-Go's, Whitney Houston and Ice-T have had their three shots on the ballot and will drop off, along with the 4 acts that only got one vote this time (Eurythmics, Cyndi Lauper, Pet Shop Boys, Lionel Richie) So this ballot with have a very new look next time around.

Oops, I'm too late. The only things that would have changed if I had voted is that my votes would have included Lionel Richie and Pet Shop Boys, so they would have gotten another chance. Though I doubt they would have ever gotten 2/3 of the votes.
