I see him as a sideman, not a main performer.

Moving on to the next group, round four for the artists who released their first record between 1950 and 1959.

To be eligible for this category the artist has to have released his first record between Jan 1, 1950 and Dec 31, 1959 . Each voter is just going to vote YES or NO on each candidate. In order to be inducted the candidate has to get 2/3 of the vote. You can vote for all 15 candidates if you want to.

THIS ROUND WILL CLOSE ON SUNDAY MAY 26 at 10 PM EASTERN:

I vote for none.

How many rounds are we going to do? Seems like we're really running out of worthy candidates.

We'll stop when it's obvious that there's nobody left who is coming close to getting elected. Maybe another 2-3 rounds, we'll see. Might be sooner if we go through each era with no inductees. We could then shorten it to just one election that includes any leftover nominees from all eras combined.

Meanwhile, does anybody have any nominees that I missed from any era?

"Don't Mess With My Man" is reviewed as a new release in a December 1959 issue of Billboard. It was also mentioned in the November 30, 1959 issue of Cash Box as a "Territorial Tip" breakout hit in New Orleans.

Maybe we should do a ranking of non-performers and ranking of sidemen at some point. Just a thought.

We'll get to that.
