Why should Money be above CN?

using Zach's top 6 (which I agree with Brian is just fine), the last 4 should look like:
1. Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)
2. Money
3. Comfortably Numb
4. Wish You Were Here
5. Time
6. Shine On You Crazy Diamond
7. See Emily Play
8. Learning to Fly
9. Echoes
10. Run Like Hell

#9 and #10 could go either way, and i'd consider a few other songs for the tenth slot ("One of These Days", "Brain Damage/Eclipse", "Have a Cigar").

Both songs have a lot of lasting popularity, so in this case, "Money" being the hit from their greatest album and something of a breakthrough song would seem to be the deciding factors.

I would say Comfortably Numb is slightly more popular and a fan favorite -- pay attention to the fans' reaction in concert when the song starts. It also has a significant influence for its guitar solos.

Learning to Fly over Echoes?

"Us and Them" is another strong contender for the tenth slot.

See Emily Play? Why is that top 10?

Shine On You Crazy Diamond is Pink Floyd's greatest song. Period.

It's Pink Floyd's most critically acclaimed song, according to AcclaimedMusic at least, so its inclusion here is understandable.

Also, referenced on Wikipedia:

"See Emily Play" is included in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list and reached #6 in the UK singles chart.

I think Floyd's early music had some influence on psychedelia, and "See Emily Play" is probably the greatest of their early songs.

Yeah there is like no regard to older Psychedelic era Pinik Floyd, this should easily fill up some of the lower spots of the top 10. Do songs like Have a Cigar, Eclipse, and Us and Them really have to be on here...?

I would really like to see an Animals song on there, but Animals is just one cohesive run of songs without any real hits or strong stand-outs, not really a definitive fan favorite on there, albeit being a strong as fuck album and one of their best.

I don't think all of the songs you mentioned have to be on there, though I doubt that there are 4 songs from the late '60s that are more deserving than all their later songs apart from our top 6. Maybe you didn't mean 4. A second late '60s song might be good, however.

Yeah, I think if anything from Animals were included, it would be just for the sake of representing the album, that if you take each song on its own, no Animals song is quite top 10.

Jimmy Eat World

1. The Middle
2. Pain
3. A Praise Chorus
4. Sweetness
5. Work
6. Big Casino
7. Just Tonight
8. Bleed American
9. My Best Theory
10. Futures

Also, a proposed edit to the Metric list, which I initially put together...

1. Help I'm Alive
2. Youth Without Youth
3. Gimme Sympathy
4. Gold Guns Girls
5. Stadium Love
6. Monster Hospital
7. Breathing Underwater
8. Black Sheep
9. Sick Muse
10. Poster of a Girl

"Youth Without Youth" gets bumped up to #2. It's their most successful song ever (highest peaks on the USA alternative and rock lists, #1 in their native Canada for 16 straight weeks). I could see the argument for it being number one; I gave the edge to "Help I'm Alive" because it too was successful and its arguably more popular within the band's fanbase (it's their most popular song on iTunes). Also, "Blindness" and "Dead Disco" get booted in favor of "Sick Muse" and "Poster of a Girl." "Blindness" is a good song but ultimately, it's just a non-single of little consequence from Fantasies and "Dead Disco," while more noteworthy than "Blindness," should fall behind more popular songs such as the two added to the list. Thoughts?

1. Shine On
2. Comfortably Numb
3. Time
4. Money
5. Another Brick Pt. 2
6. Echoes
7. Wish You Were Here
8. Brain Damage/Eclipse
9. Us vs. Them
10. Dogs (It's a stretch, I know)

I see the argument for their earlier work to be represented in the list. They definitely helped to influence a subgenre of psychedelica, but I'm not sure if there's any one song that is deserve of top ten.
