Black Sabbath seems massively underrated here. The first album can be created without hyperbole as creating the entire metal genre. I don’t think that’s possible for anything else.

True, but influence is one third of criteria. Not that ddd's metal list is a gospel but Black Sabbath's s/t is #5 there below Paranoid, Master of Puppets, Number of the Beast, Reign in Blood (ok, that one probably not gonna hold on overall rock list).
