Quote: Alice in Chains 1. Down in a Hole (Dirt) 2. Rooster (Dirt) 3. Them Bones (Dirt) 4. Nutshell (Jar of Flies) 5. Man in the Box (Facelift) 6. Would? (Dirt) 7. No Excuses (Jar of Flies) 8. We Die Young (Facelift) 9. I Stay Away (Jar of Flies) 10. Angry Chair (Dirt) Man In The Box should definitely not be any lower than #2. In fact I'd have it at #1. It was their breakthrough song, was the first "grunge" song to hit the hard rock mainstream, etc.. The song also had lots of impact. It was a HUGE video despite the fact that it was so creepy and 'unsettling' for the time. Plus, the riff is absolutely iconic. I mean, come on. Also, maybe Heaven Beside You > Angry Chair? |

A lot of these lists took a lot of time and agreement among many member (a lot of which aren't here any more to help defend). |

Just like the latest 100 greatest metal albums list. At the end you just took someone's bottom 30. Talk about lazy. |

I'm not done with it. Besides, I just edit it. It was an agreed upon final 30 (in principle) that looks solid enough for now. Don't make me take away your editing privilege. |

As a big time chains fan, I do think Down in a Hole is perhaps their second best song(after nutshell) , but in terms of greatness, Man in the Box has to be their biggest song. |

The only one's I even can edit are this one (which I haven't been touching unless there's a group consensus) and the Black/Death metal one which people have long stopped talking about. |

It was their breakthrough song. I've often wondered why Smells Like Teen Spirit is credited as the song that took 'grunge' to the mainstream, when MitB did it a year earlier. |

Because "Man in the Box" didn't take grunge to the mainstream. It was popular on the rock charts, but "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was the first to break into the Hot 100. |

Yeah, the current list has Nutshell ahead of Man In The Box, which is borderline ridiculous... |
