Taniuchi Hideki - Line of Light
vs
Bon Iver - Skinny Love

Pink Floyd-Comfortably Numb
vs
Bismillah Khan - Raghupati Raghav

Holy shit is Raghupati Raghav brilliant. I'm almost tempted to throw a vote its way but I can't in good conscience considering its competition and this just being a first listen. Sorry Bismillah.

Massive Attack - Teardrop
vs
Radiohead - There There

How did There There beat out Ice? I thought Ice had won last round. Anyhow I really don't care enough here.

Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You
vs
Billie Holiday - Lover Man

Sorry Billy. You're brilliant but this is one of Zep's crowning achievements.

jj - Things Will Never Be The Same Again
vs
Donny Hathaway - Someday We'll All Be Free

Best jj song easily beats not best Donny Hathaway song.

Django Reinhardt - Minor Swing
vs
Nicole Atkins - Maybe Tonight

Django is Django.

I like that one fine but my favorite of his I've heard (which still wouldn't win this one) is I Love You More than You'll Ever Know

Taniuchi Hideki - Line of Light
vs
Bon Iver - Skinny Love

The Hideki song was a lot better than I thought it would be when I saw it was from some anime soundtrack. I'm a huge fan of For Emma, Forever Ago, but Skinny Love just left me kind of flat this listen.

Pink Floyd-Comfortably Numb
vs
Bismillah Khan - Raghupati Raghav

Pretty much a toss-up. I enjoyed both, but I'd have to spend a significantly longer amount of time before I got to know either of them particularly well.

Massive Attack - Teardrop
vs
Radiohead - There There

I really wanted to vote for Massive Attack because voting for Radiohead is just same shit, different day, but damn if There There isn't the better track. Teardrop was great, though. Yet another band I need to investigate more fully.

Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You

Billie Holiday - Lover Man

Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Pt. 2
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - The Mercy Seat

Both great, but The Mercy Seat is just plain harrowing.

The Cure - Plainsong
Massive Attack - Angel

Both great, but Angel is sexy as fuck.

Paco de Lucia - Concierto de Aranjuez (all 3 movements)
Bjork - Bachelorette

Both great, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d4rdat3HdA

Marvin Gaye- Got to Give It Up
Van Morrison - Cyprus Avenue

Both great, but Van is the man.

Al Green - Simply Beautiful
The Walkmen - The Rat

Both great, but The Rat is just too fierce.

Phish - Harry Hood part 1
Monty Python - Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Phish - Harry Hood Pt. 1 vs.
Monty Python - Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Sorry, SanTropez, but "Harry Hood" isn't one of my favorite Phish songs and I love "Bright Side" a ton more.

Harry Hood Hood requires a lot more concentration to appreciate than people are probably willing to give in this tournament.

Personally though, I can't figure out what's NOT to like about it.

edit: To Piper-

You probably already know this, but Harry Hood is easily one of the most loved songs by fans.
