yeah well jimmy gnecco also has talent, and so does malmsteen. yet no one listens to them other than itlan and yngtchie respectively. talent doesn't really mean anything unless you're doing theory |

my problem is that i see "talent" as being a subjective measurement of creative expression. whereas here it is used as some sort of difficulty level. and its often limited even in that use. idk how many times i've seen guitar discussion based solely around speed, as if that was the only thing that makes playing guitar difficult. if i see someone play 32nd notes up and down a scale for 2 minutes, my first thought is generally "that guy needs to learn how to play guitar". then again, i also see uninformed peeps who try to lump Vai and Satch in with those idiots (which makes it clear they've never listened to those two before, because they are far from it)... i'm rambling now. anyway, Thurston Moore > Michael Angelo Batio |

Pretty much everything I've heard from Cooley is unlistenable, and I actually downloaded a whole album of his and tried to listen to it... and then I deleted it immediately after that experiment was over. Batio gets some points because at least Nitro can be considered so bad it's good. I mean, how can you not find this fucking hilarious?
