It's marred by a couple of filler tracks unfortunately, but great nonetheless. Especially the bonus track Play Dead.... why that song was left off the album I'll never know.

For instance, if I wanted to get into Symphonic Metal or whatever genre you enjoy, you probably wouldn't recommend that I listen to something from this year because it wouldn't be a proper and effective exposure to the genre as a whole. I'm sure that there's an album from another time that would be better at getting me invested in the genre.

True, but it wasn't that I decided to branch out and chose 2012 to do it. I decided to add to my 2012 list and couldn't really do it without taking some chances. Now that I'm off of that...who knows. I don't have a set plan.

Maybe you should check out Porcupine Tree...probably start with In Absentia or Fear of a Blank Planet. Then from there you might be able to gradually get into Radiohead and follow the more traditional DDD route.

Seconded for In Absentia.

I'm not entirely new to Radiohead; I like Street Spirit. I might try an album by them and maybe Porcupine Tree, too. I'm also making another attempt at Florence and The Machine (I like "Shake it Out"). I wouldn't expect anything traditional about the route I take, though.

...ok, so listen to The Bends. It's the perfect album to get into Radiohead. If you like Street Spirit you'll love the whole thing.

haha fuck you guys, i'm not even saying it in a suggestive or preachy way. It just makes sense that if he likes that one song he should listen to the rest of the album.
