Beach House - Silver Soul vs. Austin Peralta - Capricornus
I like Beach House, but I like this Austin Peralta guy, too. Looked him up, and wow, died at age 22 last year.

Charles Mingus - Myself When I Am Real vs. Can – Paperhouse
Fuck, I can't believe I'm voting against Mingus. Great track - I'd never heard it before. It does meander a bit, as others have said, but with a wonderful atmosphere and an inspiring creativity. Paperhouse, on the other hand, has catapulted in recent weeks to being not just one of my favorite Can songs but one of my favorite songs generally. It's the perfect arc, the slow beginning, the rising action/guitar solos, the climax/awesome guitar solo, and then the denouement, where the band returns to the the start but sound so exhausted now. Leaves me breathless every time.

29. Beach House - Silver Soul vs. Austin Peralta - Capricornus
I always enjoy Beach House when I hear them, but I never go out of my way to do so.Silver Soul is probably one of my favorite songs by them though. Tough call but I'm giving it to Capriocornus. I'm going to have to check out more Austin Peralta. All I knew about him was that he was good buds with Flying Lotus and Thundercat, I had no idea he was actually crazy talented to boot. This song is fresh.

30. Charles Mingus - Myself When I Am Real vs. Can – Paperhouse
Both are great songs that I find myself having a difficult time speaking on. I can see how either could be accused of being "meandering," though with the Can song it's a little easier to imagine

I'm not really into Adam Young's music and Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats are one of the best metal acts around today. Easy.

Pleasant forgettable song versus a solid solid hard rocking number. Easy. Great guitar tone, reminiscent of Iommi.


Akshay Varma - Rum n Whisky - vs. Marina and The Diamonds – Girls

two very fun songs up against each other. But Bollywood fun songs are more fun than anything else in the world. Easy.
