Ternipe - Muro Shavo vs. Thee Oh Sees - Enemy Destruct

Surprised how much I liked the Ternipe track. It's a little bit of a standard singalongy thing in its hook, but I like the slight melancholic pull to how it's delivered. Usually those types are happy and anthemic, but this was kind of somber once the backup came along.

Yeah the psych garage rock thing just doesn't hit me as much on active listens. Thee Oh Sees puts out good genre material consistently, but this kind of music works way better in a live setting with a good alcohol buzz going. Then you can just sway-dance lazily and let the layers just wash over you to get that dizzying but liberating headrush.

Bleh, this Iron and Wine track is a bonus track for a reason, it's passable but totally non-lasting. Pretty much any of the tracks from Creek, Endless or Shepherd's Dog would've been a far better choice. It only wins cuz it's again Poison, but be ready to lose in the next round Sam Beam, track is about as quality as Jim Beam.

I was actually gonna vote for this for shiggles, but only cuz I was hoping this wasn't inducted from Fincher. But I think he did vote for it and that's just too cliche for me to take. It's the equivalent of like me wearing a Hawaiian shirt today. The song is horrid tho. I mean when I hear a recorded audible sighing to start off a ballad, then ho boy.

uh hallelujah

and that's my least favorite part of that song! I much prefer his live versions than the studio.

- I've never heard an Iron & Wine song before and I've been meaning too. The vocal melody sounded like it was going into Genie in a Bottle and the background guitar sounded a bit like the outro to Punchup at a Wedding. Completely useless commentary but it was never going to lose to Poison. I liked the track.
