The Who is UK hipster culture and The Doors are San Francisco hipster culture. Led Zep were more immediately world-dominating than any of these groups. They got the nerds and losers and stoners but also the sexy girls and jocks and shit. The truth is that all of these bands were likely attractive to basically any "young person" of that era. Favorite rock band social signalling encylopedic ingroup/outgroup dynamics weren't nearly as complicated. |
