indeed it is .... he's just a very very passionate performer and its brought out in his live performances. he's not a singer - he's a musician, and it's clear to see that...he's one of my favorites and an inspiration .....

Well, his music is also a bit different. And requires a different style. Yeah, "awful" was perhaps too strong word, but I was just wondering how he has managed to keep going on so long with that technique.

But yeah, _when_ he's sounding good, his voice kind of rocks me into a very comfortable and happy mental space.

Listening to some Rhapsody, I've come to conclusion that Lione is very underrated here.

I appreciate Fabio Lione, but I have to admit that I prefer Olaf Hayer's voice.

The singer of Luca Turilli's solo band, right?

He is probably more metal than Fabio, but Fabio's technique plus versatility grant him a very high position.

Vs Daltrey

Breath Support - Lione (Lamento Eroico)
Consistency - Tie
Diction - Daltrey
Endurance - Daltrey

Switching - Daltrey
Runs - Lione
Blending - Lione
Pitch - Lione
Vibrato - Lione
Volume Control - Lione

Projection - Daltrey
Resonance - Lione
Use Of Range - Lione
Sustain - Lione

Tech vers - Lione
Tonal vers - Lione
Stylistic vers - Daltrey

However, McCarntey is a bit overrated and Jorn is underrated.

And have you checked your mail, Beast?

Being ill sucks. I hope you're better soon.
Yeah, Macca vs Jørn would be an interesting one - anyone fancy giving it a go?

I'd give Lande projection and resonance, listen to his cover of Stargazer for this....

Paul McCartney vs. Jørn Lande

Breath support - Lande (Much cleaner notes from a baritone)
Consistency - Tie
Diction - Tie (I could go either way on this)
Endurance - Macca (He is 68-years old and still going strong!)

Blending -
Switching - Tie (Lande has a lot of great switching stuff, Macca ain't bad either, "Hey Jude" has awesome switching!)
Pitch - Tie (Could go either way?)
Runs - Macca
Vibrato - Lande
Volume Control - Tie

Projection - Tie/Macca
Resonance - Macca (Just listen to any of his 5th octave notes for this)
Use of Range - Tie/Macca (Both of them have HUGE vocal ranges!)
Sustain - Tie/Macca (Both of them have sustained great notes)

Tonal Versatility - Tie/Lande (Macca has awesome style to switch between soft voice and his powerful rock voice, Lande is a great imitator of Coverdale, for example)
Technical versatility - Tie (Both of them have featured some great singing techniques and high/low singing)
Stylistic versatility - Tie (Could go either way)
Phrasing - Tie (Not sure about this, really subjective...)

Really close... :freak: This was hard to do so feel free to say if you disagree with some of those because I feel that not all of those are right...

WOW! never seen a breakdown as detailed. Pretty close, considering the huge difference in their singing styles.

A few links where McCartney shows his skills would be great. I never thought he was that proficient technically just wanted to listen more of the guy
