That's actually one of the first DP songs I've ever heard, I remember downloading a compilation called Deep Purple Platinum, it had 3 volumes and on the third volume was this song. Hughes is truly incredible there.

... yes it is excellent and I suppose it shows how truly versatile Purple in its musical directions .... most would think of DP because of SOTW and have no idea of the classical, blues, funk, R&B, jazz etc styles they have intertwined into their music over the years .... Take care

... another gem from Hughes with a little R&B/Funk stylings

Snow in the Lambert thread had sorta a off topic discussion and I guess it would be best suited in this thread if you techies would take a gander at her request.

Okay, I may be a bit off-topic, but I wanted to hear professional opinion here about this for a long time now. There is, actually was, sadly, Russian singer Muslim Magomaev. Not sure you've ever heard of him. He had a fantastic voice - beautiful, with a great range, just amazing. Every time I listen to him - I think of Adam Lambert. I'm fully aware of their differences: for one thing, Magomaev was a baritone, he initially had a formal opera training (he even was on probation in the La Scala theater in Milan), he was both operatic and pop singer closer to Sinatra style then rock - so a lot of similarities as well as differences. But! when I listen to him (especially pop songs), it's like I hear Adam's approach to performance. Not many singers even for my untrained ear can use their voices in such a capacity.

It's really difficult to find videos where Magomaev had used his showman skills, he used to sing in a lot of formal events. If it's okay here, I'm posting one of my favourite, the Russian folk song he had sung 40 years ago... hmm... okay, I'm stupid, so here's just the link :-( - http://youtu.be/b7rKIaKMv9s
Here's the link to his covers of the world's hits http://www.magomaev.info/en/worldhits.html
I'd like to post some more videos, the problem is - can't choose, there're so many fantastic performances and don't know what you'd all think of this off-topic. Sorry, if I'm totally out of place.

Actually, it's not only me, the whole fanbase accepted this album and it's gotten much much better reviews than their last 2 albums.
