If RCA had any balls they would release Shady as a single. That to me is a huge hit, especially with Nile Rogers name on it. It's different and would stand out on the radio. Old school yet fresh.

Agree Val! Listening to ALL songs from Trespassing with my Senn. headphones now and they all sound great but Shady just screams "FUNK!" which I love.
And I think we will hear him sing "Runnin" live eventually. He's messin' with us right now by putting that out there.Fans ARE talking about it.The song is not a duet but he DOES have 2 black female backup singers now.Besides....the song is too dramatic/theatrical for him NOT to do!
Don't think he hasn't read this forum. He reads EVERYTHING people are saying about him...especially about his performances. :thumb: :tiphat:

Ha! Yeah, good point there. I was thinking more about the PDs when I wrote that. Could give him more credibility with them, and they might actually play it.

Actually Sir...I'm assuming you said that tongue-in-cheek...however....you might be surprised to see how many KIDS (yes, as in below age 30!) are Tweeting to Nile Rodgers on a regular basis. They ARE excited to hear the FUNK!
EDIT: Val also has a very valid point re: PDs.

You might be surprised on that front since Nile is pretty big in the video game soundtrack world. Here's a mention from his Wiki page.

"In 1998, Rodgers founded Sumthing Else Music Works record label and Sumthing Distribution, an independent music label distributor. Sumthing focuses on distributing a fast-growing new genre: video game soundtracks. Its titles include the complete Halo and Resident Evil franchises and other well-known Triple-A game soundtracks like Gears of War and Borderlands."

Considering Video games are bigger than music and movies these days I wouldn't be too quick to think kids don't know Nile.

I'm hearing various influences on different songs but no Williams yet BD.....If I really stretch it I suppose I could hear a tad...any song in particular that Chokehold reminds you of?
