Kimmel was better vocally for Adam, but the backing singers are better on AOL Sessions

What do you think? Better than FYE?

Runnin', Underneath, and Nirvana should probably be in the revised studio list. Heck, the first two should slide into his top 5. Any other vocals good enough for top 20? Outlaws of Love, Broken English? Kickin In?

Way better than FYE.

I'd wait for live performances tbh before jumping on the lists

I'm just curious as to everyone's opinions on the studio versions. I don't think it's necessary to see how he sings these songs live to determine where these songs rank on the studio list.

Hi Val. True about no reason to wait for the studio impressions...we have the tracks.
I think this will be a tough one as far as getting any real consensus because many seem to have different favorites for different reasons. Sometimes my reasons are clouded by the fact that I have heard a few live versions already and either prefer live (as is usually the case with me when it comes to Lambert) or I prefer different tracks for lyrical/emotional content.
From a purely commercial perspective...I believe RCA chose the wrong singles so far."Better Than I know Myself" and "Never Close Our Eyes" are neither one in my faves list.
For the faster/dance numbers, I prefer "Shady", "Trespassing","Kickin' In","Cuckoo" and the one I think SHOULD have been his next single (from a commercial/radio POV) "Naked Love" which has a really catchy "WHOOOAA-OHHHH-OOHHH" singalong part that fans are already getting into.
It has taken a little longer for the ballads to kick in for me but I'm really digging "Underneath" and "Runnin'" though I still also have a soft spot for "Outlaws of Love" but much prefer the LIVE version from Canada last year.
From a purely vocal standpoint, I think "Runnin'", "Broken English","Nirvana",and "Underneath" are masterful.
As an entire album, start to finish...I'd give this one a half-star more for cohesiveness. Thanks for asking Val...what are YOUR studio faves so far? :tiphat:

Great Greg! I do hope you like it. I do, though it did take several listens for a few of the tracks. I know it sounds hokey to say "they grew on me" but that IS exactly what happened!
Looking forward to your "review" :snacks:

PS: I'm already seeing/hearing that though many of the tracks on the album are "pop" Lambert is doing them live in a more "rock" style, as is his want. So, needless to say, for me his live versions are still the BEST. JMHO.We have tickets to see him in Costa Mesa, CA on July 19th! Great seats too! (By that time he will have performed the 6 concerts in Europe with Queen!) :thumb:

Well in terms of vocals I like underneath, Runnin, nirvana, kickin in, and I like the tone of his voice in outlaws(subjective, I know).

Favorite songs for me regardless of vocals are Runnin, shady, broken english, and cuckoo. Honestly, my least favorite song is naked love. It's just not that interesting to me.

Yep. I really enjoy most of the album except for Pop That Lock and NCOE. Chokehold and Trespassing are a bit "undercooked" though.

Looks like the only song we really differ on is Naked Love, which has had to grow on me but now I see it's potential as a pop radio single (lots of audience participation etc.)
Here are the most recent live performances (from Wilkes-Barre PA yesterday)

Trespassing and Kickin' In:

Broken English

Chokehold

He did a set of 9 songs but these are the only ones I can find right now from that venue. Enjoy!
EDIT: The videographer is still uploading so I'll add them as I can.

Acoustic version of Purple Haze from the Sirius radio concert set/interview broadcast today:

@ScorpioBert Purple Haze acoustic from Sir.ius DL http://bit.ly/KEq0JN

For those interested, the whole concert/interview on sound cloud. Larry Flick isn't the usual babbling interviewer - his interviews with Adam usually go pretty deep...

@ScorpioBert: My new sounds: 2012-05-26 q108 with Adam Lambert http://bit.ly/L3vWKm on #SoundCloud

Pretty freaking cool video for the current single, NCOE. Futuristic, Orwellian, kind of Stanley Kubrick-ish. :snacks:
