Curiosity wrote: Exactly. Adam can be pretty cool because he has a ton of confidence and charisma, but badass? No. You need to have some grit for that. So what does he need to do...bite the head off a bat? LOL!

He could attack his audience. That would be even better. Throw buckets of blood into the crowd and hurl feces at the audience. Picture this: Adam hurls a pile of feces in a fan's face before, in the tradition of Elvis, he wipes the sweat off his brow and says... "Take that home with you honey" Now THAT would be badass. GG Adam. |

Curiosity, you're killing me! *ed.* queen, I for one don't give a damn what artists are like outside the stage. ON the stage Adam definitely isn't the definition of "badass" - when we're talking about _how singer delivers a song_. You don't need smoke and mirrors, bats or anything else except yourself and a microphone to do that. Adam can be cool and charismatic and sexy and really, really GOOD. But badass? Not so much. And it's not a bad thing, remember. We were talking about certain specific songs here. |

How about this for Adam baddass in Amsterdam? There should be a health warning (excuse the amateur video but you'll see what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=RY7kbII9oG8# I'm going to see Adam Lambert on Saturday in Manchester (27th) and Shepherds Bush London on Monday (29)! I can't wait. A friend came back from Amsterdam a couple days ago after seeing him live there and she said he was utterly brilliant and a million times better live vocally and in the flesh (slight exaggeration?) By the end of his "badass" encore Purple Haze and Whole Lotta Love some fans were virtually fainting. Talking of fans, on YouTube I think they do a dis-service to the music industry putting up crappy quality videos they've taken at events though it gets an artist such as Lambert known worldwide. |

Timitzii: You should've given your examples in music clips. |

Karen Carpenter had a really pure and clean tone that I love, and I think Lambert's voice would do this song justice if he didn't go too OTT. I am enjoying WWFM on his acoustic EP. Best acoustic version that I have heard. Which number, from Superstar, Cougar? I'd love to hear him sing Gethsemene. Just a thought on the many peeps that have expressed a desire to hear him "not too OTT"....I have a sneaky suspicion that most of us, if we found ourselves on the autobahn in a Lamborghini, would flat out go balls to the walls because we COULD. Why drive such a machine like any old clunker? JMHO...(shrugs) J/S......... No, I mean the actual song Superstar recorded by Karen Carpenter. Not really a balls to the wall kinda song, Queen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWkOryYF6CI Otherwise, I really have no complaints about him being OTT or too ballsy. This is just more of a Soaked or Broken Open kinda song. |

Curiosity wrote: Sir wrote: Curiosity wrote: I was just naming a bunch of stereotypically gay songs. But yeah, most of those actually would suit Adam imo. How is Dancing Queen stereotypically gay? ![]() http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/ent ... 24653.html Well, there were 20 songs on that list and he has only done one, so, not bad Why are we concentrating on the gay factor anyway? Is it because a gay man can't also be badass? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU-Iod_a57Q Rob.

cougar: I LOVE that song! And Karen's voice. But for some reason I could actually imagine Adam doing a version of Rainy Days and Mondays. |

Timitzii wrote: I can do that soon but those pictures prove much too! To me the clips worked better. Timitzii wrote: they can make women scream with really simple emotions. Am I sensing a bit of sexism here? Timitzii wrote: Badass is more like a guy who goes wild in the stage, like animals. Cornell, Rose and Patton (usually) are definitely like these: aggressive headbanging, screaming, crazy tricks etc. Once again I would define "badass" a bit differently. And yet, I still think we understand "badassism" the same way. Go figure. |

Precisely - I'd never call Plant a badass - performance wise or delivery wise....just one of those things..... Vedder's a great example of both .... Staley can be both too actually ..... in fact - all the grunge dudes have tendencies of both.... |

Well, I think everyone here has established him as not necessarily "badass" , but I do see some innocence in him occasionally...even with his antics on stage. Rainy Days and Mondays would be another good choice, IA. I just love her (KCs) voice, and Lambert has that same pure quality to it. Just the male version. |

cougar wrote: but I do see some innocence in him occasionally...even with his antics on stage. Me too. But I think the innocence of Superstar is a bit different. It's more... well, it's about a naive girl longing after a superstar with whom she had a one night affair. You get what I mean? Whereas the sincerity and vulnerability of Rainy Days and Mondays would suite Adam fine. |
