The real misunderstood album is The King of Limbs, which is in fact amazing. What on earth was I thinking last year?

I always thought it was "blank shore" which I actually like better.

Yeah, I've had a total epiphany about it. I'm glad I revisited Hail to the Thief a few days ago because I realized how much more amazing it was than I remembered, which made me revisit Amnesiac and I had the same reaction. Then I listened to The King of Limbs, which I probably only put on a couple times last year and when it didn't engage me I gave up on it. But coming back to it now, in the midst of my Radiohead reawakening, I realize it's utterly fantastic. Bloom is one of their most entrancing, engaging soundscapes. Totally sucks me into its little (or not so little) world every time now.

It really is terrific. Bloom, Seperator, Codex and Lotus Flower are all awesomely captivating tracks.... hell everything except for Give Up the Ghost and maybe Morning Mr Magpie is fantastic. It's not a masterpiece by any means but it's still great music. I think I might like it more than Hail to the Chief and Amnesiac, I just wish it had more content on it.

I'm still on the fence about Give Up the Ghost. It was the only track to really grab my attention last year when I first gave the album a shot, but now it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb (possibly more due to its sound than its quality - I'll see how it goes on further listens). Morning Mr. Magpie is great, though. One of their best rock songs in my opinion. And Feral is a mindfuck if ever there was one.

The thing I love about Give Up the Ghost and Magpie is that there's something unique and enigmatic about the tracks that make for a unique listening experience. I don't know if i'd call them bad songs but they're not great in the convectional Radiohead sense, they're just... different. Give Up the Ghost seems like Radiohead trying their hand at a folk song and while the result isn't spectacular it certainly is interesting. I've listened to that song many many times due to how unparalleled it is. I'm also on the fence about it sense it really is a bizarre track.

Give up the Ghost isn't a bad song but I wish they had just used Daily Mail in its place on the album. And I always liked Morning Mr. Magpie for its tension and sort of twitchy sound. Little by Little is the only track that I didn't really care for since it sounded so much like their earlier well-travelled material, reminding me of I Might be Wrong in particular (though I like that one).

They should have used Supercollider and Staircase instead of the above mentioned songs.

6. Hail to the Thief: Only Radiohead could make a "mid tier" album this good. Radiohead fans need to get the sticks out their ass when it comes to this one. It may be less cohesive than their other works, feeling more like just a collection of songs, and yet it's still more consistant than people give it credit for.

I'm probably way out of the mainstream on this, but that's kind of how all their albums feel to me, which is not a criticism, just an observation. Obviously, they have a set of sounds and moods they mostly explore, so none of their albums is frustratingly incoherent, and in all their albums I've never encountered a transition from one song to the next that is jarring (at least in a bad way), but none of their albums strike me as a complete work of art whose very structural integrity relies on the presence of each and every song on the album. OK Computer probably comes the closest to this, but it also explores a relatively smaller palette of sounds than their later work.

I don't feel that way at all, I think most of their albums flow together perfectly and HTTP's only real weakness is that it's so eclectric it hurts that flow.

I think OK Computer and Kid A are both albums where although not all the songs are on the same level, it feels like there would be something missing if you took anything out. I feel like that's one reason Radiohead gets compared to Pink Floyd so much, not just because their music is weird and trippy.

And as I said before I think Amnesiac has even better flow than those two even if it's not as good.

I actually think all of Radiohead's albums are some of the most cohesive stuff I've heard, even Pablo Honey. It's to the point where I don't even have a Radiohead playlist on my winamp because it just sounds so wrong if FPT doesn't come right after High & Dry or if the Gloaming doesn't lead into There There.

Also, Thom sounds really sexy on every moment on The King of Limbs.

Also
1. The Bends
2. OK Computer
3. Kid A = Hail to the Thief
5. The King of Limbs
6. In Rainbows
7. Amnesiac
8. Pablo
