Yeah, you need to listen to Wu Tang.

I haven't heard a lot of Wu Tang, but what I have heard I really liked.

has anyone given Tha Carter IV a full listen yet? I've listened to a couple tracks and I have mixed thoughts. I thought How to Love and John were both awful but It's Good and 6'7" are decent. Also, what the hell was up with Lil Wayne s performance at the VMA's? That was unbelievably terrible.

saw Big Boi at Bumbershoot in Seattle this weekend (sorry I forgot to hit up the Seattle DDDers) and it may be the best hip hop show I've been to. I've gone to a buttload of hip hop shows and I'm started to get kind of jaded to them. But Big Boi was really great.

Kendrick Lamar is opening for Big Boi on his tour right now, and man, he is definitely worth checking out. This song is one of the best rap performances I've heard in a while from a standpoint of technical skill. His flow on it is pretty ridiculous. And he did it perfectly live. I'm pretty sure the vocals are just one take because he leaves in the part where he fucks it all up at the end.

Is that number too low or too high? Odd Future is pretty damn popular among hip, white audiophiles.

^ exactly, not just the white demographic though. odd future has been the by product of a really really well played hype machine, even though they are quite talented.

tyler's bastard is my favourite odd future related record.

I'm still thinking "Earl" is the only great album, front-to-back, that Odd Future has put out.

Agreed. Tyler maybe the figurehead of the group, but I think Earl is definitely the biggest talent. I can't wait to hear what he'll sound like once he's back from Samoa.

Did anyone else feel compelled to listen to this album after seeing the cover on Pitchfork? Half way through, and it's pretty decent!
