That's the word on criterionforum at least. A damn shame, I really wanted to see it in good quality. Although maybe it could mean a dvd release is imminent? yeah, i mean it's been imminent, but it's in the running joke category of never coming out in a lifetime. Though I would say it's not as bad as the possibility of Zerkalo (at least you can actually see that one tho) |

was just on box office mojo and noticed that while box office records are being broken left and right these days, the most recent film to enter the top ten in terms of tickets sold is titanic, which was 18 years ago. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/ad ... r=1&p=.htm i feel like if star wars is in any way good it has a chance at doing top ten numbers in terms of tickets sold. it's almost pointless talking about the expected box office as it goes without saying it will be an enormous hit. |

one of the best movies ever is now on youtube and with english subtitles available (!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiRq6qjBrvc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vRhh7L-2kM also... for those who admire tarkovsky and/or khutsiev... this does not have english subs... so i doubt anyone here will watch but it is nevertheless at least interesting to note how one of tarkovsky's teachers also ended up being influenced so heavily by his student... Kill List The Wicker Man (1973) The Devil Rides Out seen (both) 'Wicker Men' and enjoyed both (...for different reasons). The other two look interesting as well, particularly 'Devils Rides Out'. 'The Conversation' and 'Blow Out' and 'Rear Window' are all centered around a similiar plot device: an innocent person becomes privy to a murder (or a murder plot). But this is not a particularly unique plot device, I swear I must have seen it 2 or 3 other times. I'm just trying to think of where or find other examples. |

Disturbia. Also, The Wicker Man doesn't contain any satanic ritual (that I can recall). It's about pagans. |

i have no experience with that and didn't even know you could do it. i dunno if i'm the only one interested in this, but i really like how film looks aesthetically. especially super16 and super8 film stock. a company called logmar has developed a new super8 camera, the first in a couple of decades, that was released this year and the footage looks really cool. sharpest super8 footage i have seen. beautiful, i especially like the look of nature and mundane things in real grainy film. We got to shoot in 16mm for film school, which is an experience I'll always cherish. |

oh man, i'm actually thinking of investing in a 16mm camera and getting some film stock at some point. it's a dream of mine to shoot something on 16mm, even if it's just random shit around the city. |
