DDD Forum :: View topic - Greatest Movies Of All Time

Now I wonder, if it makes sense to keep Mulholland Dr. and TWBB this far apart (the former is borderline top 100, the latter barely remained in the top 150). Sure, Mulholland Dr. is ranked much higher on tspdt so I'd give it acclaim but it's also clearly more polarizing and less popular movie. While it's a Lynch's magnum opus, his influence was already well-established by that point so I'd argue it's not very influential either. What do we think?

Speaking of Lynch, Blue Velvet is also ranked quite a bit higher than The Shining/Aliens which may be dubious.

Both are extremely acclaimed and very influential (everything I mentioned about MD's influence is still valid, it was also a big breakout for Noami Watts' career for sure). I personally think both TTBB and Eternal Sunshine could be much higher, but the current placement is fine.

On Tim's last update, the highest 80's movie is: 15. Scarface - Brian De Palma (1983) However, Amadeus has still not made the final list yet, so I'm saying he "cut off" Amadeus too soon - I think by mistake.
