^we should put that in the criteria, just to shut Taro up about the Gilmour/May debate. criteria: influence, originality, creativity, skill, knowledge of astrophysics |

Trucks 17. Lee 18. Anastasio 19. Bonamassa 20. Moore I would put Jeff Beck in the top 20. While he never really improved on his best studio solos live (same can be said for quite a few on the list though) he always improvises his solos and has quite a lot of great live work, particular in the Jeff Beck Band era around 71 and also during 75-79. And even to this day when he's inspired he can spit out inspired improv flurry's with ease. I'd put him ahead of Moore and Bonamassa for one. I think because Beck does mostly instrumental music live he doesn't have as much room as some of the others and perhaps his improvisation don't shine through as obviously, but its there anyway and he's one heck of a live player. Perhaps not top 10 material but top 15-20 surely. |

We need to have Jack White in the top 25!!! His live ROCK tone is easily one of the greatest ever. |

GOD NO !! i used to really like this song, and thought it was heck creative, but hey, he doesnt even play that snake charmer note on his freaking guitar, not to mention his last part sounded tremendously like something Page would do ..... so not much originality at all, he seems pretty sloppy (not a bad thing) but you cant really use him for immaculate technique , nor is he as entertaining as Bellamy or Townshend with his presence to make up for it ..... if there was any sort of criteria for this list, Bellamy would beat this guy in every single category .... |

Yeah, he is influenced by Page. On this one he sounds like Townshend: But at the end he has his own style and his tone is absolutley amazing. He should be ahead of Bellamy. |
