Why do people here keeps denying the greatness of White?

His live shows with the White Stripes were always highly-acclaimed.

AllMuisc refers to White as “One of the most admired guitarists of the early 21st century”.

You could accept that most of us dont think that much of White. And the early twenty first century is a very brief time period, during which extended jams weren't what concerts were about. White is not worthy of this list.

I will agree that this forum has a huge bias against Jack White.

Have you considered you could have a bias for him?

Are you ignoring all the people who said they like Jack White and his various bands?

I like White Stripes a great deal, made a 2 CD compilation of favourites for the car. However, I wouldnt put Jack White in the top 100 of this list, if top 100 would have existed. Pretty much every guitar player in any decent rock band from the 60's or 70's is a better live player.

20 is too low for Gary Moore, during his prime period (early 90's), he was smoking hot as a player, he has played alongside many legends and always was on par with them!

It's too high. I still have nightmares about the time I saw him 3 nights in a row. And after that I make sure all my friends know buying me surprise concert tickets is OFF LIMITS. Then again its my fault for being such a nice guy and going to the other two gigs when the first one was crap. Gary Moore is overrated as hell and he doesnt belong in the top 30 in the live list. Beck is a better live player as are all above Moore now. Then there's Zappa who I know he is mostly labeled as fusion, but he was also rock and deserve a place in the top 20. Hell I would even put Knopfler and Gibbons above Moore in a live list, in a heartbeat.

I agree with that, people like Zappa, Gilmour, May and Knopfler all deserves the top 20 more than Moore ( I could see him in a top 40 though).

Yousha

Ive posted on this topic before as well and the clue to the clip you posted is the date.

I dont want to speak ill of the dead but, as a live musician, Gary was much better suited to the rock stage. The lights, costumes, smoke, fireworks and frontmen like Lynott etc all helped him. I thought he was just brilliant at this time.

As a 'so called' blues musician, he played to smaller crowds in smaller venues. I saw him a couple of times during this era and, like Rusty said, it was pretty poor. Even to the point of people walking out in droves. I couldnt say that he hit bum notes or anything, just that he came on, played and went off. No real interaction on prescence or contact with his audience.
