Another guy who lit up the stage for me was Rory Gallagher. I only ever saw him in small venues, probably 500-800 size. But it always felt like it was one of your mates on stage in front of you. No pretension, just a battered strat, a denim cut-off and hard, sweaty bouncing blues rock and roll.

I've never seen Duane either, but I think he's just one of those guys that stands there and plays for the most part.

Brian May has quite a presence. Yes, I know he's no top 5 and he just stands while playing most of the time. But there's just something so cool and classy in his stance that makes you watch him.

I agree with you, stage presence is not just jumping around the stage like a crazy but there is the charisma component to be considered as well and May have alot of it.
Btw check him during the Queen + PR tours or even better his BM band shows, he really did anything like singing, playing, running all over the stage and having a great time with the audience.

I don't agree mainly to the fact Ace and Page are in that top 5; I also think Angus is a serious candidate for the top 5.

I think Hendrix is clearly #1 in stage presence.
Clash, I love Townshend but I'd place him #2 in this area. Jimi was just something else...

You had Townshend at #3. Pete's had over four decades of having an extraordinarily powerful stage presence. And his peaks as a live performer are towering. He's the only choice for #1 in that criterion. Hendrix was pretty tapped out by '69/'70, and his peak as a live performer is no more impressive than Pete's.
