I just want to clarify that this list is not an attempt to delegitimize George´s lists. It is just an alternative.

The list is not close to be finish. I think that Cantrell and Frusciante are tie.

Maybe Cantrell could move up?

The first quote was from George. The second quote was from a magazine.

IMO Clapton was the first to use wah wah “to explore textures and make a song more intense” (as you said):

First let’s agree that Clapton is more versatile than Hendrix.

IMO it could be a tie, however, the tiebreaker is Clapton’s blues guitar playing:

There is literally NO plausible way that Clapton could be tied, or go above, Hendrix on a greatest guitarists list.
