Clapton is both, a top tier rock guitarist and blues guitarist and he is highly respected and acclaim within both genres.

a.) His musical style is blues-rock, a hybrid of the two.
b.) This doesn't make him more versatile.

b.) Clapton's heart may be rooted in the blues, but his music is rooted in rock. I've never seen Clapton play blues like B.B. King or T-Bone Walker.

Here are, again, a few songs in which Clapton plays 100% blues. He has several albums in which he plays just blues. I highly recommend From The Cradle.

I'm sick of arguing about Clapton's supposed win over Hendrix in versatility. I asked you why Clapton was at #2. Why is he?

Because he is the closest to Hendrix and I am just trying to show you why. He still have to discuss: influence, creativity, originality, acclaim, technique, uniqueness, legend status, live material, solos, etc, etc, etc.

I don't fucking want a shitload of youtube links. I don't want you to fucking whine on and on about how Clapton is a "top-tier rock and blues guitarist". I want you to learn the meaning of the word versatility, and I want you to tell me why Clapton is at #2 on this list.

Are you freaking kidding me? You just said that versatility is "how many different genres you can play in". I am showing you how he is great in both rock and blues, and now that is not versatile?

And I want you to recognize that Clapton is a legit blues guitarist and that he have made 100% pure blues albums!!!!!!!!!

Can you do that? Or you want to continue living on denial?

Are you pulling these arguments out of your ass? I said that just because he's "top tier" in blues and rock, it doesn't mean he's MORE VERSATILE THAN HENDRIX. He isn't. He plays blues-rock and that's it. He has influence in rock and blues, but nothing beyond that.

That's your argument? What a pathetic piece of shit. Almost as bad as your greatest guitarists list.
