And besides, Hendrix really showed how that pedal could be used, whereas Clapton used it in a more straightforward kinda way, pumping it along with the beat.

I never said hendrix was the first, I said he innovated many new ways to use it, which as far as I know, is true.

PS

Clapton is my favorite guitarist of all time

BTW classic rock artists like The Rolling Stones and Dylan are crazy for playing with Jack White.

Slash is a jerk for saying that he is the best guitarist right now.

But the worst of them are Page and The Edge for doing a guitar documentary with him. What the hell were they thinking?

... maybe this .... Take care

Clapton is also my favorite guitarist and one of the reasons I put him ahead of Hendrix is because of his wah wah playing, especially on White Room.

That´s a great song and its so ahead of its time.

BTW, what do you think of EVH being ahead of Blackmore?

Blackmore is definitely one of my all time favorite guitarists, but I don't think for this list he should overtake him, my change would be make Clapton 3 and EVH 4, then leave the top 10 alone

I think that Page could go down quite a lot. Influence is the main criteria and Page has not influenced any important guitarists during the last 20 years, and the “guitarists” that he has influenced are crap, so any influence he might have is negative influence.

... my thought has generally been ...

Hendrix
Beck
Clapton or Page
Blackmore
EVH

however, I do understand the reasoning for EVH within the current placement .... Take care

What?

Hendrix could also be removed from the #1 spot. Again, he has not influenced any important guitarist during the last 2 decades. No one carries his torch anymore.

On the other hand, Clapton and Allman should be #1 and #2. They have huge influence over Trucks and Haynes. Their rock guitar legacy endures.

I just found rock guitar funeral:

Those guys sucks.

Influence: None (during the last 15 years, there is not a single band in the entire world that has been doing that type of guitar driven rock).
Innovation: Zero. If you look closely, one of them is not even playing a guitar!!!!!!!!!!
Originality: None. I´m sure they are copycats of some dead bluesmen.
