Has anyone else noticed how there seem to be a lot of guys around now who are taking a page from Michael Lee Firkins' book and playing with their fingers? I've seen a lot of guys playing what I would describe as Firkins-inspired licks but I'm wondering is there someone I'm not really aware of who played like that before him or is it a case of Firkins' influence growing?

Dunno if it's necessarily Firkins who inspired them, but he's no doubt a bigger name amongst fellow players like Kotzen and others who've been experimenting with fingerstyle playing. It's of course a natural extension of the hybrid picking that Brett Garsed has been doing for years, and then you have Jeff Beck who shuns picks altogether.

Do we really know he was Stryder on a different account?...the only questionable part was him posting things everyone has seen, but this time it was Sabbath instead of Zeppelin. Paranoid...who does he think we are? No we haven't heard the Paranoid album, we're just really into guitar lol

I'd really appreciate if people would stop posting about banned members in the forum. If you have a question about why a person was banned, or whether someone used to post under a different name previously, PM me. It's very simple. I regularly check IP addresses if I suspect someone is a banned poster returning with a new identity, and Brian will do the same to make sure this is indeed the case.

So please, send me a private message if you have questions like these. Posting about it in the forum, especially this thread, is not doing anything but cause speculations and distracts from what the thread is really about.

I'm a huge Scotty Moore fan, but isn't he a little too high here in the top 10 of all time?
I only see him excelling in influence, not much else....

I know that the top 10 has been discussed enough, but Chuck Berry should be moved up. I mean, to have someone like Iommi ahead of him is totally wrong. I say he should be #2. (He is #4 on my list and I will move him to #2).

Yngtchie, correct me if I'm way too off base, but don't you think Roth, Schenker and Rhoads score high enough all around to be placed a bit higher?

I'd be totally for raising Chuck Berry. Sampson was saying he should be 2 on another thread! But that discussion would be another day...
