If you like thrash or death metal watch the whole thing, if not, start around 2:46. This guy has some really cool ideas going on in this performance especially for a modern death/thrash band. Dave Davidson of Revocation.

Domino, those were every bit as awesome as I expected them to be. I swear, 70's Scorpions just blow my mind. Killer album after killer album!

Is it possible they have the best ratio of ballads to hard rockers of any metal band in history?

So true. I have every album of their early career except Lonesome Crow, In Trance(gosh I need this so bad) and Tokyo Tapes. I've heard all of them though and they are all killer.
Lovedrive was the first album to feature Matthias Jabs but it was still before they went completely awol on their early style.
Yes, their ballads are very emotive and their rockers make me wanna go nuts.haha Klaus really has all the emotive qualities a rock vocalist needs. He can make you wanna cry or jump out of your skin at the drop of a dime! At least for me!

Sweet God that was hilariously bad. Probably the shittiest starting off point I've ever heard for a solo.

Domino, what did you think about that "Heaven and Hell" solo I posted.

oooo didn't watch it! gimme a sec.

EDIT: it was great. The lead work toward the end of the solo was super tasty. I also always loved Entwistles runs in that song.

Every time I hear that song Its impossible to ignore Entwistle's mighty bass improv. Yeah Townshend probably used more lead work in this version then any of the other ones.

I think for me Entwistle and Bruce are the kings of rock bass improv but there are others obviously. Townshend's leads really stick it out in that performance. I've always loved that chord progression as well.
