Shuggie Otis has picked up steam since I saw his first gig back in November.

as a Bonamassa fan, I really didnt enjoy that much. thought his acoustic playing would be more soulful, it's strange I find his electric playing so much more fulfilling.

Also, this makes me happy.

Yousha

That's Joes 'show off acoustic set piece' and has been in his show for years.

He is now starting his live shows with a 20 minute+ acoustic set and then following up with a 1.5 hours electric.

This is following the success of his complete acoustic performance at the Vienna Opera House (where he played about 20 different guitars). These performances are all over YT if you get the chance to check them out.

TV News Item about Bonamassa at 13 years old.

Has clips of him playing with John Lee Hooker and talking with BB King

This is a pretty big band in Tacoma (my hometown) that's getting some recognition, and I'm also sorta friends with the band, so I'm curious how good you guys think the guitarist is. Yngtchie, I wouldn't mind your expert opinion on the subject:

i don't know why i'm posting this.... the playing deserves a "D" by eric's sky-high standards... maybe it's the fact that his voice struggles and that he botches a few notes and has a somewhat hard time with the improv that reminds me that he is human after all and it is somewhat endearing... plus it's a wonderful song, one of his best imo...

I didn't mean in terms of playing, as I didn't notice any glaring mistakes. He just looks increasingly frail and ill, something I first started noticing in this video:

After seeing that, I most certainly have more respect for metal. Sheehan is a fucking monster!!

That's what I was telling to you when we were discussing his rank on the greatest live bassists

EDIT:
There are a lot of good improvisers out there that are as good at improvising as the ones you listed, but those are all phenomenal bassists for sure. I know you're not super into metal but even before I got into metal(about 6 years ago) I always respected it. So many amazing musicians in the genre. With that said, these guys are all much more than just metal players.
