Four so far. 2012, 2007, 2002, 1993. Maybe he will top another year, I don't know. Should he be bumped on goat actors list? The guy is a beast in acclaim.

Four, you’re right. ‘93 is pretty close, though.

And incredible as it may seem, maybe DiCaprio will be the actor with more appearances.

Anyway, it's nice that this thread gained momentum especially given how low-key the forum is nowadays. Thanks, you guys.

Thank you. Though I have to admit it becomes less fun as the years go back. Harder to gauge performances that had an impact on the public consciousness in ways that can't be measured with Wikipedia.

Keeping the films' selection mostly the same but playing with order a little:

1. Denzel Washington - Malcolm X
2. Gene Hackman - The Unforgiven
3. Robert Downey Jr. - Chaplin
4. Emma Thompson - Howard's End
5. Al Pacino - Scent of a Woman
6. Clint Eastwood - The Unforgiven
7. Judy Davis - Husbands and Wives
8. Michelle Pfeiffer - Love Field
9. Jack Lemmon - Glengarry Glen Ross
10. Al Pacino - Glengarry Glen Ross

11. Steve Buscemi - Reservoir Dogs
12. Stephen Rea - The Crying Game
13. Marisa Tomei - My Cousin Vinny
14. Jack Nicholson - A Few Good Men
15. Sharon Stone - Basic Instinct
16. Miranda Richardson - Enchanted April
17. Tim Robbins - The Player
18. Susan Sarandon - Lorenzo's Oil
19. Alec Baldwin - Glengarry Glen Ross
20. Tom Cruise - A Few Good Men

Scent of a Woman is a good performance but fairly polarising one, often viewed as overdue Oscar for Al. It shouldn't be #2. Edit: Missed Sherick's list. But we are kinda on the same page with him.

Good compromise.

Although I find Baldwin's scene very good, I don’t know if it's enough to be on the list.

Is this supposed to be US/UK or English-language? Cause if it's the former, Reno is ineligible.

That's my wording of eligibility criteria. According to it, Reno has to go.
