I'm inclined to swap #'s 2 & 4. It's true that "The Patriot" got more favorable reviews than the two films below it but it was hardly a critical success and ended up being a slight disappointment at the box office. "Stargate" and "2012" were huge boy office successes and are the only two Emmerich films other than ID to appear on TSPDT's starting lists, "Stargate" on the all-time list, "2012" on the 21st century one.

The rest of his output were complete critical failures thus I'd mainly base the rest of his list on box office success, which means "Anonymous" and "Universal Soldier" move down, TDAT and "Godzilla" move up.

Sure, why not?

Top three is a no-brainer. The last two are difficult. "Monkeybone" was such a big commercial and critical flop that I'd probably go with two of his short films instead. "Seepage" seems possible but "Moongirl" and "Slow Bob in the Lower Dimensions" both have bigger lasting popularity and influence. SBitLD pretty much secured the attention of Burton and thus Selick's breakthrough while Moongirl inspired a children's book.

I'd probably swap Campaign and Goldmember. The latter takes popularity by more than the former takes acclaim. The first two I could see in either order but I think the way you have it is fine.

That said Roach has made exactly ten films if we count his TV work, it's just that "Game Change" and "Recount" are pretty hard to rank among his significantly more popular and significantly less acclaimed cinema work. I'd probably have it this way:

1. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
2. Meet the Parents
3. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
4. Game Change
5. Austin Powers in Goldmember
6. The Campaign
7. Recount
8. Meet the Fockers
9. Dinner for Schmucks
10. Mystery, Alaska

8. Vodkaa, komisario Palmu
9. Tulipunainen kyyhkynen
10. The Girl from Moon Bridge

I'm genuinely surprised by how similar our lists are. I have no issues til after #6. Based on the information I have I'd suggest the following films in roughly this order for the last four spots:

7. The Scarlet Dove (nominated for a Silver Bear in Berlin)
8. Red Line (Jussi for its script and was entered into the 1st Moscow IFF)
9. The Glory and Misery of Human Life (received at least two Finnish film prizes and is listed in the intro to the Finnish Wikipedia article among Kassila's best known work)
10. Isän vanha ja uusi (Kassila's third directing Jussi)

erikk, I suspect you're Scandinavian so if you have more info on Kassila's output and can give reasons for your placements, please do so.

6. No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson
7. Prefontaine
8. Reel Paradise
9. Joe and Max
10. Passing Glory

I'd swap #'s 4 & 5. Immortals has a clear advantage in popularity while acclaim is about equal.

I'll definitely swap #'s 2 & 3. Predators' advantage in popularity is significantly bigger than MTtN's in acclaim.

Joss Whedon
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
2. Firefly
3. The Avengers
4. Serenity
5. Much Ado About Nothing

J.J. Abrams
1. Lost
2. Alias
3. Star Trek
4. Super 8
5. Star Trek Into Darkness

Terence Fisher
1. Horror of Dracula
2. Curse of Frankenstein
3. The Devil Rides Out
4. The Hound of the Baskervilles
5. The Bride of Dracula
6. The Mummy
7. The Revenge of Frankenstein
8. Dracula: Prince of Darkness
9. Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed
10. The Phantom of the Opera

How about this for a 6-10 for Quentin Tarantino
6. Kill Bill Vol. 2
7. Jackie Brown
8. Death Proof
9. Grave Danger: Volume 1 & 2
10. Four Rooms [With Allison Anders, Alexandre Rockwell and Robert Rodriguez]

I know Four Rooms is a collaborative anthology film, but it is by A Band Apart Films, and they do smoke Red Apple cigarettes which put it in the Tarantinoverse.

Also, I've been considering making a Tobe Hooper list, but this controversy has kinda made be disregard making a list for him. Any thoughts? Maybe if it's mention it was directed with Spielberg?

I'm inclined to say it's too early for a top ten and that "Four Rooms" probably shouldn't count for him. Yet it would be possible to make a top ten for him via adding "My Best Friend's Birthday". I'll look into it.

Looks like it was indeed a directorial collaboration and Spielberg's remarks suggest that Hooper was the main director, plus he was the solely credited one. I'd say "Poltergeist" would undoubtedly qualify for a Hooper list and that a mention of Spielberg would probably justified.
