I was only counting two-camera, live productions myself. |

All-time, Sports Night is my favorite for a short run, and The Simpsons through about 2000 or so my favorite for a long run. Friends and Seinfeld are great, and I loved Family Ties back in the day but I'm not sure it holds up so well. Of what's on the air now, I'd recommend Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Fresh Off The Boat. |

I like to think of sitcoms as what I thought 'in lieu' meant a few years ago. There's the definition term, but then there's the term from what I think it should mean. |

The only multi-camera live production that I've really enjoyed in the past 10 years is The IT Crowd, which is what the Big Bang Theory should aspire to be- a totally non-contrived, non-patronizing tribute to geek culture. All the other comedy series I enjoy from recent- AD, Curb, 30 Rock, Louie, Parks and Rec- have the more intimate single camera feels. |

That's a lot tougher because most of the new multi-camera sitcoms are really bad, and I haven't seen a lot of the older sitcoms that used that style. Of the ones I've seen I would say How I Met Your Mother and That 70s Show are probably the strongest. |

I think the multi-cam medium peaked in the 90s and died a few years into the millennium. HIMYM is okay I guess, but every other one sucks ass as far as I can tell. |
