But by that standard how would you work in a show like the Wire which had universal acclaim but anemic ratings and nearly zero awards presence?

Wasn't doing lnelsen ratings. I was doing like agg. score lines such as metacritic, Rotton, etc.

the latter point stands. The Wire had two nominations, both for writing, and 0 wins in five seasons. Despite a near-consensus of critics saying it's the greatest show ever, it would have to rank several notches lower if you're making the Emmys or even the WGA awards part of the calculus.

Okay? and it is universally acclaimed from the other two criteria. Its an outlier, and you can quite easily distinguish bias from the award nominations based on the overwhelming support it got from the other two categories; also, not really sure why you're trying to find holes in the method I came up with a top ten.

Most don't anymore, and this wasn't really official by any means. It was just trying to remove a subjective bias out of it.

Embrace subjectivity, there's no such thing as an objective aesthetic quality

Well i haven't seen everything so i was trying to be fair. But if I go subjectively, GOT, and Breaking Bad, and thats about it. Don't watch mad men, justified, abbey, homeland, the americans, and some others.

Love CK (and Jake Johnson) but I'd have to go with Capaldi there. For Supporting Actress (Comedy), I think I'd go with Krakowski.

Haven't seen The Americans and don't have much desire to for some reason and I would definitely nominate Hannibal (if it's eligible) over Homeland.

as far as the Emmys are concerned all 1/2-hours are comedies, even though all 1-hours aren't dramas.

Anything to do with Apple of Steve Jobs at this point is almost guaranteed to be insufferable.
