Why oh why do we have to wait until we're behind until we start playing fast paced, attacking football. The first 60 minutes of this game was some of the most lifeless, turgid football I've ever seen, not helped by the two games I watched before it being Spurs vs City and Leicester vs Arsenal. |

I really don't know what world it is that some of these people are living in. eh, it's just a bit above 270mil, and Rodgers hasn't been that bad in the market. Rodgers is failing to live up to expectations right now. Expectations seem to be still based off a squad that was built around and dependent upon luis Suarez...that's the guy pool fans should be pissed off at. |

I was a bit perplexed. On first read I had absolutely no idea what bones was on about there. Bones I was referring to Nick Rogerson our spurs loving friend who was in attendance at the city vs spurs game... |

Bones wrote: Really? I'm sorry bud. I literally thought you were mixing Rodgers with Hodgson for some reason. And my frustration with how the match was going at the time also had to do with that post. Even though it was ugly, 3 pts are 3 pts right? ![]() It wasnt that ugly tbh. We made mistakes for sure, but going forward we looked a lot better. Sturridge is so much more of a natural fit to our side than Benteke. Same is true of Ings. Overall I was a lot happier with the performances of most of the players than previous weeks. Defensively we weren't great, but Gestede was a handful for Sakho and I think would have been one for any defence based on how he played yesterday. I think it means well be seeing more of the back 3 in the next few weeks. |

I shall be watching our hilarious but loveable defence being pulled apart by Arsenal, but at least we have a superb attack so it'll probably be exciting and we'll probably lose 5-3 or something. And Bones - Liverpool were in the Second Division when Bill Shankly took over, so even though you said don't explain rough patches, calling it the worst team in their history is kinda hyperbole and kinda ignorant of your team's history. You were pretty close on this one. Very entertaining game. |

Bones wrote: It's hilarious how this joke is in charge of one of the biggest clubs in the world and I could sit here all day and point out his flaws tactically. Not trying to sound like a smartass but I could probably be a better manager for fuck's sake. Seriously. This guy makes 2nd division level mistakes and doesn't even acknowledge them. You could probably get a 13 year old kid from the stands to select a better formation. Credit BR for the win mate, and for the second placed finish year before last... If you hold him accountable for everything you can also credit him with the success. Or did Pep Guardiola just inherit a great squad and is also no better a manager than Rodgers... |

I wouldn't be surprised if Jose is pulling your leg again mate. I agree with you most all the time, I just don't post constantly about it. Which is no better or worse, just different. |

Bones wrote: Comparing Rodgers to Pep Guardiola might have just lost you all your credibility as a poster for me, bud. Only half pulling his leg. I'm just pointing out an inconsistency in your logic and the logic of many others around football circles. BR is a hack who was only successful because of one good player in his team, whereas Pep who had possibly the finest club squad in history and the greatest player to ever play the game gets no shortage of credit and is apparently regarded as the greatest manager in the game. Rodgers deserves credit for the formation and counter attacking style of football that won the praises of many that year. Suarez deserves the credit he gets for being the league's best player. Pep gets the credit for the style and tactics he ran with that best suited the players he had and spawned a lot of wannabes (BR included). Each gets the merits for their contribution. That's all I'm saying. Of course I think Pep is a better manager than Rodgers FFS! and as I've said before I'd happily trade up for Klopp or Ancelotti, but I wouldn't axe him for Gary Monk. That would be exactly the crap we've done with players in recent years... Move Agger on in favor of Lovren. Etc. Stuff that. Wait until you can actually upgrade significantly before you do it unless things are so bad that even the janitor becomes a more appealing option.... You seem to think we've already reached that point. I disagree. |
