Anyways, all signs point to Klopp getting brought in as the new manager. Finally this team should be watchable again.

Let's hope we get this over with and restore stability very quickly. I'm still a bit sad to see Rodgers go but it was pretty clear we weren't going to contend any time soon... Provided that we get a good replacement I think we've done a reasonable thing and gave him a good chance to build the side.
Before we axed him he was the second longest serving manager in the EPL....

I wish him the best and thank him for his service... Wonder where his next destination will be and how soon? Sunderland? Replacing McLaren or Sherwood? The management merry go round is fickle and unforgiving...

I'm hoping you don't have a manager in place by the time I go to the Lane for the game on 17/10.

I'm worried tbh. I think if Liverpool hire the right man they could be seriously challenging us for a European spot. :eh:

We're going to finish 7th, Spurs are going to finish 4th and then we're going to win the Champions League.

 But I can't hear you over the sound of Mourinho whingeing

And his whinge this weekend was a particularly good one I thought. Good in the sense that it made him sound like the only team he should be managing is one with players who get changed into their kits from straight jackets.

Our players might as well be wearing straight-jackets to be fair. Excited that Loftus-Cheek is going to get some minutes though. Probably misplaced, but you have to take what you can get.

Just watch the first minute and listen to what Henry says about our owners. He could not be more spot on.

Nice clip. Interesting. I wish we got the Sky Analysis on tv down here....

Will be interesting to see what Klopp makes of our playing group. What formation will he play? Which players suit his traditional setup? He's not known for playing two strikers. He tends to play 4-2-3-1. who becomes a favourite with Klopp's preferred style, and which players will see less time?

It seems like he values both technical skills and pace, so I expect that Sturridge, Coutinho and potentially Can and Henderson will benefit most. If you believe the rumours, Klopp also tried to sign Benteke and was a big fan of Firmino, so they might also feature. I wonder if he'll recall any loans, Markovic springs to mind as a possibility... I want thrilled when we loaned him out...

I believe Klopp will go with the 4-2-3-1, using either Lucas or Can as the holding midfielder and then Henderson to play a box to box role like Gundogan did for Klopp. Then I believe Klopp would imply Coutinho in a wide role in which he would cut inside often like Marco Reus did, Firmino to play in the central role like he did with Hoffenheim, either Milner or Lallana on the right flank, and Benteke/Sturridge up top, depending on who's not injured.

One concern I have is the defence. You notice how Klopp's Dortmund team got counter attacked a lot but they put up with it because they have pacey defenders that can also pass and clear under pressure. Sakho and Skrtel are pretty pacey but shaky in possession. We might see another centre back brought in during the winter transfer window. I also think we should have another goalkeeper aside from Mignolet and Bogdan that we could rely on.

Unless Klopp imposes some of that German fearlessness in Mignolet we probably need a new first choice keeper.

I don't think Sakho is anywhere near as shaky in possession as his awkward, gangly frame leads you to believe. I'd be surprised if he didn't have a very high pass completion rate. But I do find him awkward when it comes to clearing it under pressure. And Skrtel is not great in either area I agree. Could ilori be recalled from loan? Or could Gomez be used in central defence?
Do we need new talent in the defence?

Klopp is sounding like Cruyff talking about entertaining, interesting football. This guy could be what the whole Premier League needs.
