Man City in full meltdown? They could well have to play Arsenal and Liverpool without two of their best players. |

I sympathise with the man on this occasion. It was a bloody frustrating game to watch from a liverpool fan perspective. But bones you should temper you're expectations. I'm actually not after a title win this year. I just want to break out of the yoyo cycle from 7th to second and back again. I want sustained progress up the table and us to establish ourselves in the Champions League consistently every year. This can then be leveraged into attracting the type of players that money alone can't necessarily buy and can then push on. We've made about 6 changes every year for a decade and i think now we need to find consistency and then build on it more slowly just trying to inject one or two world class players rather than a complete overhaul in 6 positions. |

Yeah, I can see Liverpool pilfering from Southampton again; they seem to have a fetish for paying through the nose for decent, but not world-beating, English players. |

Lopp has a pr wrote: I wouldn't say only English players but you're correct about decent, but not world-beating. Firmino and Mane perfectly fall under that category. The only big signing they ever made was Suarez and he's gone already. They treat soccer like baseball which is stupid. In baseball, when you're rebuilding, you trade your best players for young prospects that end up becoming the future of your franchise. It seems like FSG tried to do this by selling Suarez and spending the return money on half-product youngsters that simply aren't good enough to win you a championship. Soccer isn't baseball and you can't implement a successful strategy from one sport into another. It's stupid and a waste of time. That's what happens when you put clueless Americans that don't care about the sport in charge of one of the biggest football clubs in Europe. I mean, Klopp does have a track record of working with young players/making players better |

Who would you suggest replace Henderson as captain though? Plus I'm not sure stripping Henderson of the captaincy would set a particularly good tone in the locker room and would likely lower morale. |

Can or Lovren are the only others I could see being captain. I like Milner as vice-captain but I don't think making an aging player who just joined captain is a good idea. And I honestly don't think it could make any difference if we replaced Hendo with any of them. |

There is not a single world class English player right now. |
