Not really as it's primarily for the European stage. It doesn't matter how good a team is in it's domestic league if they shit the bed in the Champions or Europa leagues. |

i understand that they're used to determine seedings/rankings for uefa tournaments, but they're not a good reflection of the best teams. i definitely think they'd be better served taking more into account performance in a team's league (and bouncing that off of the league's coefficient...which the may already do, i don't know exactly how that works). if entry in a uefa tournament is almost solely dependent on performance within your league, league performance is certainly worth more than 20%. chelsea is clear 9 points clear of united even though united won the league and was involved in the far tougher tournament, and had an incredibly tough draw. |

Then you'd have teams from much smaller leagues overrepresented in the rankings. The coefficient is a seeding system to determine how many places in the two European tournaments are awarded to each league, as well as who plays who in those tournaments. Criticising the list for not representing something it's not meant to represent is pointless. kosherrock wrote: chelsea is clear 9 points clear of united even though united won the league and was involved in the far tougher tournament, and had an incredibly tough draw. Largely because Chelsea won the Champions League in the 2011/12 season and the Europa League last season. Even if this list were meant for comparing individual teams and which one is the "best", it's worth pointing out that Chelsea met Manchester United five times last season, winning three, losing one and drawing the other. |

Xavi is so comically arrogant and I love him for it. |

Do you guys think liverpool should keep or sell Suarez? Bad image problem, but our only world class player. Tough call IMO. If we could spark a bidding war between Russian billionaires I'd think sell. But only if we have already identified targets we want but can't afford due to lack of available funds. And if the price is right. The January window was good for us. We did well with 20m in sturridge and coutinho. Does make me wonder what we could do with $35+m. Is the league more interesting or worse off for having him? |

Georgi wrote: These points don't make any sense at all. How are this year's Bayern second to United in 2011? Bayern have absolutely destroyed every competition, breaking records. United lost in the final of the CL and 80 poitns in the league. Hell, how did United beat Barca's score that year?! Man U lost only one game, which was the final, and only allowed 4 goals in 12 games leading up to the Final. |

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22711082 Liverpool to sign 25 yr old Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo for 7m GBP. Kosher What have you made of borini's first year with Liverpool? I'm yet to be impressed but hopefully he comes good. |

not much to make of lol. Everytime Liverpool was on here in the states it seemed he was sidelined with injury. He's talented and has plenty of potential, it's just too hard to say right now how good he can be...if you're wondering if I think he's good enough to sell suarez, the answer is no |

Wow, Armenia beat Denmark 4-0 away! Good result for Bulgaria - we might just sneak a play off place. |
