Yeah, that is true. It can not all be given to blame on Mata. It takes time for a team to change from, what is ultimately two totally different formations, even though the numbers are the same from a positional standpoint.

I'm not a huge fan of Osvaldo. He has a terrible attitude and he's not good enough to merit building an offense around him. It was harder to let Lamela go because he fit in our system well and has a lot of potential. It's possible that his goal tally was inflated thanks to Zeman last season, but still.

i wasn't sure what rodgers' angle was. i thought southampton played very well, though..i wouldn't say liverpool handed it over to them. sterling was disappointing - nothing but pace.

Sterling is too weak to be effective IMO. Hopefully we move him on and put the effort into developing Jordan Ibe.
Our bench looks pretty weak these days though.

He should try playing Kagawa and Hernandez ahead of wellbeck, and young or Valencia.
