If sterling had converted that chance we would be 1-0 up at the half.... Games can go different ways on a few key moment. We let ours slip, arsenal seized on their second one and then didn't look back. I do agree that Joe Allen and a returning Lucas in deep midfield is simply not good enough but with the suspensions, short of promoting Emre to midfield at the risk of the defence what can you do? Sterling needs to realise he's a long way from the finished product. |

Sterling sounds like a sensible lad to be honest. Get paid, and go to a club where he can win trophies too. |

He'll be the next Shaun Wright Phillips if he goes to city. good player but he's a long way from the first name on the team sheet even at Liverpool. Hopefully we can get a good price for him. |

He's played too many of your games since 2013 to say he's not an automatic starter. In terms of who's been your best player in this past couple of years under Rodgers, apart from the obvious Suarez, he's probably the next pick. Sturridge may be better be he's perennially on the treatment table. |

Of course he's a starter, and deservedly so, but still a long way from the finished product still imo. Honestly he has surprised me relative to what I thought of him two years ago but I don't think he's going to go to the next level. I hope I am wrong. Some pretty obvious limitations Imo and not a lot of improvement in those weak areas. Over those years I'd have him behind Suarez, sturridge, coutinho, and Skrtel. He's been in pretty ordinary form of late though. I think now the defenders are giving him less space, and being a bit more physical with him he's been allot less effective. |

To be clear though, it's entirely from my mom's side. |

"Coming up next on Fox Sports News; the goal that is being compared with David Beckham's wonder strike. Stay tuned." This goal is replicated at least 3 or 4 times a year in different leagues all around the world. I really don't think David Beckham needs to be referenced any more. |

Not to take anything away from Beckham, but I think the goal today might've been even longer. And Rooney's from not that long ago was shorter, but on the half volley with players coming at him. No need to put Beckham on the pedestal. Ever since then it's been almost easy to shoot a long shot towards the goal when the keeper is up forward. It's cool everytime, but seeing enough of them makes you less likely to pick out individuals. |
