I think its an easily explainable situation given all of the adjustments to his game he had to make coming over to the US. Also the trend in lowered walk rate goes back into August of last year so he's got more than just April going for him.

That would easily explain it if he maintains his walk rate. The best predictor of future performance in baseball is still large sample sizes of past performance.

You're correct but his high walk rate from last year is not really based on a large sample size.

You don't treat anyone nicely in your city. Basically every cities fanbase is more polite than yours

If they talk shit we might heckle them back. Or we might start talking shit if they're being obnoxious. But in general we won't talk shit to fans sitting there and enjoying the game nor will we launch streams of invective at children wearing opposing jerseys or dump beer on people from the other team.

Didn't a Philly fan once piss or intentionally puke on a kid or something?

probably the worst one was throwing batteries at jd drew when he came back but most of them are harmless and fun, e.g.

With NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue in attendance on game day, December 10, 1989, the Veterans Stadium crew failed to remove the snow that had piled up for several days leading Eagles fans, including future governor Ed Rendell, no choice but to pelt the Dallas Cowboys' players and coach Jimmy Johnson with massive amounts of snowballs.

this article just informed me that having a jail and courtroom with judges installed in your sports arena is not common

also it clears up the puke thing

21-year-old, Matthew Clemmens of Cherry Hill, N.J, allegedly vomited intentionally on an 11-year-old daughter of an off-duty cop.

no philadelphian would ever do something like that

I've had friends that were screamed at as children as visiting fans.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again. I don't think it's fair to judge Phillies fans by the one guy from Jersey who puked on a kid and not the half-dozen guys who tackled him after.

(The kid and the kid's dad were also Phillies fans, so this less a sports-related incident and a more about one guy being a giant asshole).
