you said 'throw' though, man. 'throw' not 'doesn't change direction until the ball is almost on top of a guy 5 yards in front of him'. I know I'm kind of being that guy now... but yeah.

Read the sentence following throw. It modified the throw thought. He was moving in the other direction at the throw. I then follow that with the statement that he didn't even begin moving towards the ball until it was in the other guys chest. I was making a predicate statement of what was happening at throw and when direction changed. This is quite relevant as throws of that distance do not take that long to travel so where a player is moving at the time of the throw is relevant to catchability.

i think there should have been at least a holding call. you could make an argument that the ball was uncatchable but you can't make the argument that he wasnt being held.

Other than the fact on last plays of the game like that its almost never called. But yeah he was being held. Brady really deserves the blaim because I think he was trying to deliberately draw pass interference by underthrowing

first off: really on the bolded, wtf?

secondly well ya if there is literally no good throwing option and you're about to get creamed it was clearly the best decision to try and draw a pass interference penalty. i think it's a little ridiculous to blame him for concluding that was his best play. and dont try and make him look like a douche for doing it because there isnt one qb in the nfl who hasn't done it multiple times.

He threw it too short to draw it. I'm not calling him a douche but him fucking up the play is why they lost.

I had one foot on the Matthew Stafford bandwagon and I now I think I'm taking it off. I don't know if he relies too much on Calvin Johnson or is just too used to getting bailed out by him, but I just think he's not accurate at all (at least not consistently) and seems to telegraph too many of his throws (something he shouldn't be doing at this point).

Or am I just expecting too much too soon because he threw 40 touchdowns one year?

it ended up not mattering, but i was perplexed about why dez bryant's catch/drop wasn't reviewed. anyone know the rule on that? it looked like he caught it and then his knee hit the ground and then the ball popped out once his arm hit the ground, but wasn't loose in his arm before that. i thought that counts as a catch. then it could've been huge if dallas didn't convert on 3rd down right afterwards and had to settle for a much longer field goal.

I was also shocked. I guess they were making the argument that he immediately was going to the ground which means he has to hold the ball through to keep the catch. Was bullshit though in my opinion because he took some steps.

Man lol to the NFC North this week. What the fuck was that?

I'm sure it has, but the work I'd have to put in to check would be too much.

I think you can confidently state it hasn't happened where they all didn't win and there was a divisional game involved in the mix.

Can we count NFC Central games or only since the NFC North has come into existence? It hasn't happened since 1974. I'd need to find a list of ties before then to keep going back.

Anyway, December 20, 2009 saw four losses for the NFC North.

that game was so anticlimactic. i was excited for an end of overtime manning drive to beat his arch rival, and then fucking tony carter has to lose it on a special teams gaffe, prompting zephead's brady > manning claim. ugh
