Yeah, that was the game I was expecting to happen either this week or next week. Bears (and their fans/reporters) have to get it out of their heads that this is the same Bears defense without Lovie and Marinelli. I can't remember the last time we scored 32 points and didn't win. Lions played well enough where you can't quite say the Bears handed them the game, but it was pretty close to that.

If the pick pool was one where the set up was you gave levels of confidence to each game and got greater points when you got those games right I would have probably rated this one right behind Denver and Indy. Classic Bear's road loss.

I wasn't very confident going in, I'm just too much of a fanboy not to pick the Bears. It was a pretty classic loss, but I've only ever been a Bears fan (who's old enough to analyze football) during the Lovie tenure. I was hoping Trestman's approach might work differently.

Hey I picked the Cowboys knowing they were probably going to do the same thing.

Because it's easier to get in field goal range late in the game than it is to score a touchdown.

This was such a waste of such a good defensive and special teams performance. Bad call in the end by Dennis Allen too to go for it on 4th and short when its 24-14 with 3 minutes left. If he kicked for 3, we could of played a good defensive series and then maybe come back, but he stupidly went for it.

Miami does have a good D. It'll be a good game indeed.

Are you kidding? That's actually the right call pretty much 100% of the time on 4th and short. You need two scores and you're not going to get that close that often. If you think you have a good chance of converting you go for it.

Why not kick the field goal and then get the touchdown and go to overtime? That would of been the safer call.

If by safer you mean less likely to have ignorant media and fans call you out for making a decision then yes. If by safer you mean more likely to result in victory then no.

I understand this but the point is that you need a touchdown and a field goal to tie it up. Does it really matter which order?

YES!

Is the problem Haley or Ben? Definitely seeing that ben's style doesn't happen without great receivers and a line

Well he's been without a line for the past 3 to 4 years so he can play without a line. Receivers he needs more. Mainly I think it's Haley being terrible.

what do you think the chances of a touchdown are given you're at the 10 yard line? compare that to P(touchdown) receiving at your 20.

Verses probability of getting in field goal range from your 20 (and also having the small chance to win by scoring the TD).

i think haley is part of the problem, but when arians was there (and wallace, ward, burress, etc.) a lot of plays were made outside of design. i don't think ben is the best out there at finding the open man on design.

This is correct. What I meant is his receivers are not as good now so that hurts him.

He asked his mom and she said it was OK... for some reason I sincerely think that makes it OK.

Bears' D finally played great but goddammit that 4th quarter was so frustrating. Two veterans (Earl Bennet and Briggs) just fucking it up for the rest of the team (Bennet dropped a great ball on 4th and 2, Briggs bit on Brees' hard count on 4th and 1 to extend a drive a couple more minutes). Bears didn't necessarily "deserve" to win, but if those two do their jobs on those plays, the game's pretty well in reach.

Good news is that Alshon Jeffrey is a beast; today marked the first day a Bears receiver ever had 200 yards.
