every dog has its day. the bears have gone about as far they can go with a pretty bad o-line. you can probably bank on it happening this season.

I have a fantasy draft on sunday and i'm grossly unprepared. Does anyone know where I can get good fantasy advice, something other than ESPN's Matthew Berry who loves to incessantly talk about his personal life in his fantasy articles. Matthew Berry, I don't give a shit about you're sex life just tell me which fucking running back to draft.

No idea, it's a random rotisserie draft. I'm still working on my rankings and to me choosing between Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles and Adrian Foster isn't easy.

Bank on what happening? If as far as they can go is the NFC Championship Game, then even a step or two back would still keep them above the Lions, even with the Lions moving forward. You're forgetting they have one of the best defenses in the league and that their o-line is actually pretty good at run blocking. That + another year in Martz's system for Cutler and the receivers should mean their offense improves so long as their o-line isn't significantly worse than last year, which I don't think it will be (though I'm not as optimistic about their passing game as their coaches seem to be).

Plus if Stafford gets hurt again you shouldn't count on Hill having another great year.

bank on the bad o-line catching up with chicago. i understand that they made it to the nfc championship game but you've got to keep in mind that they're divisional win came against seattle. kruetz is old. i get it..losing him does make it easier to sell bears, though.

a healthy stafford is key, absolutely. i don't know if he's "injury prone" yet. he hurts the same shoulder this year...yeah he's injury prone. i'd say hill has the same chances of having a good year as cutler does doing in chicago what he did in denver.

It's not like the bad d-line hasn't caught up with them yet, you could see the effects in every game, its just they managed to win anyway, and given some improvement from the rest of the offense I think they can still do it. Don't forget that Tice is maybe the best o-line coach in the league, and the two tackles are young and will undoubtedly improve as the year goes on. Besides the sack numbers from last year are misleading, they tended to have horrible games with tons of sacks and then really good games with not a lot, and a lot of those came because inexperienced receivers couldn't get open. They'll probably still be in the lower-tier in the league but I think they'll do good enough for the Bears to be successful, if everybody else plays up to capabilities.

Lions win again.

It wasn't pretty though. I believe the Browns beat the pack last week. so there's that...

no i understand that you've seen some affect from the o-line play, but its going to start translating into losses. teams just can't sustain success with sub-par o-lines, it just doesn't happen. theres definitely opportunity for improvement, but i'm thinking we're not going to see it this year. and you're right, that giants game really threw the #s against chicago, but even taking out an outlier like that, the numbers still didn't look good for chicago. i'm not saying chicagos going to be dreadful, but the possibility for them to finish behind detroit is pretty darn real.

@ santropez...our defense looked blah...i'm in maryland so i had to utilize the live look ins on NFL network, but from what i saw from the defense...sheesh. and burelson is making me feel pretty good about our offense, i thought he was a guy who had definitely seen better days, but he's looking great. stafford, too.

And we should consider that Calvin Johnson didn't play.

I see your point, I just feel like offensively they're on the up swing, and as long as a team can run block (which they can) you have a pretty good shot at being successful. It's not just the Giants game, it was the Panthers game and a few others. People forget the Bears O completely dismantled the Eagles and Jets' defenses, due in large part to great pass protection.

Of course them finishing behind the Lions is a possibility, I just think its ridiculous for a large number of analysts to predict that it would happen.
